On Track

The Endurance Legends 4hr race – Round 2 of the new European Endurance Legend Cup - thunders into Donington Park on 12/13th May featuring the leading classic endurance teams from the UK, Europe and beyond;  2017 Endurance Legends Champions, Neate Racing (UK), Team Force (Belgium), Motobel (France), Team Segale Classic (Switzerland), Team ISR (Sweden), ACR2 (Germany), Team Taurus (Italy), Sunday Ride Classic winners Team Roadrunner (Netherlands), and Team NZ Wild Hogs (New Zealand)!

They include the top riders from endurance racing and other disciplines, including Guy Martin, John Reynolds, Steve Parrish and Stéphane Mertens, while multiple World Endurance Champion Terry Rymer and 3 times British Superbike Champion Niall Mackenzie take to the track in the parades and will be in the paddock to meet fans, chew the fat and sign autographs, and maybe even take part in the main 4hr race commentary.

Much of the attention and atmosphere will be focused in the paddock which is expected to host more than 1,000 machines courtesy of the 4 hour endurance teams, the Landsowne and GP Originals race bikes, the VJMC (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club) National Show which includes displays from 40 clubs and private collections, and not forgetting the hundreds of classic track machines.

This year also marks the anniversary of a number of pivotal motorcycles; it's the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Norton Commando and Triumph Trident, 40 years since Suzuki's GS1000 and X7 and Honda's CBX1000 hit the roads, 35 years of the BMW K1 (which will see over 70 K1s ride-in from all over Europe as part of K-Fest!), 30 years since the arrival of the Honda RC30 and Suzuki RGV250 and the 20th anniversary of the Suzuki TL1000R. Each one of these epoch-defining motorcycles will be supported with displays from their owners’ clubs, with the Suzukis also seeing action on the track in two Suzuki anniversary parades.

On Yer Bike

The Endurance Legends Live Arena will feature the chance to try out the latest retro machines from BMW, Triumph, Ducati and electric bike manufacturer Zero in a controlled environment on the circuit's Melbourne Loop, giving potential customers the chance to experience a range of new bikes – all for free! There are also racing sidecars taking visitors out for a few sensible laps so they can experience how it feels to skim the tarmac and corner at speeds that defy physics.

On View

For 2018 there have been some significant improvements at the Donington Park circuit after its takeover by Motor Sport Vision. One of the most noticeable of these is the new grandstand at Hollywood, giving great spectator views from Redgate down through Craner Curves to the Old Hairpin.

On The Up!

Endurance Legends 2018 promises to be even bigger than last year, which attracted 10,000 motorcycling enthusiasts over the weekend.   Discounted advance tickets are available now via Donington Park’s website.
