International Female Ride Day

Calling all ladies!

Calling all ladies! It's International Female Riders Day this Saturday (5th). Never a better time to get on your bike and help spread the message that women ride.

International Female Ride Day is a once-a-year international event. It was started in Canada by Vicki Gray, founder of motoress.com - a woman motorcycle enthusiast magazine and website, in 2007. She had started it out as a national event, with the intention of it going global as time went on. But the word quickly spread. So, even in its first year, it had participants in Canada, the US, the Netherlands and Australia. By its second year, England, Greece, and some participants in Russia had joined.

The idea of the day is to celebrate that women ride and to hopefully encourage new female riders. It doesn't matter what brand or type of motorcycle you ride, or where in the world you are. Just that you get out there.

So, if you haven't planned to already, join women all around the world on Saturday and celebrate riding. Whether that be getting out on your own or with friends, or joining an organised IFRD event near you.
