Jack Hunter and John Barton at the IOMTT 2013

A bit about how two Wemoto sponsored riders are getting on

It was a hectic few weeks during the IOMTT for two of the Wemoto supported Manx based riders, John Barton and Jack Hunter, here's a bit of news about them...

Jack Hunter has taken local honours on the GSXR750 Suzuki and now leads the Isle of Man Championship for Post Classic machines. At the same time Jack has moved up to second place in the Twins Championship on board his Kawasaki ER6. This machine boasts a whole host of parts supplied by Wemoto.com which include: brake pads, Barnett clutch, oil filter, battery, cables, levers, spark plugs and screen.

Jack is in his second season of roadracing and managed to gain his National Licence over the Easter weekend which enabled him to enter the Post TT races on the Billown course aboard his Kawasaki ER6. Although well down on power compared with the strong entry of top TT racers, Jack performed creditably well and is looking forward to his next outing on the same course at the Southern 100 Races in July before travelling to Scarborough at the end of the month.

John Barton

John Barton was also very busy over the TT fortnight. The action opened with practice for the Pre TT Classic Races on the Billown Circuit. John entered on a newly acquired 1992 ZXR750 Kawasaki. Performance on Slick's dyno and an hour or so at a local track day  was very promising but it  needed a tougher examination - hence the race entry for the Pre TT Classics. With just two laps under its belt the clutch started to slip. But all in all very encouraging - fourth fastest and only a second or so off pole! Saturday practice was missed fixing the clutch and unfortunately the heavens opened on Monday raceday. No racing but lots of lessons learned and track time well spent in preparation for the Classic TT in August.

John was riding his own Wemoto entered Kawasaki ER6 in the Lightweight TT. No problems during practice week , just routine maintenance and a well earned twelfth place finish in the race on Friday rounded off a memorable TT fortnight.
